Mandelieu La Napoule
Along the bay of Cannes, between Cannes and Théoule-sur-Mer lies the municipality of Mandelieu-la-Napoule. Until 1970, Mandelieu and La Napoule were two separate towns, which then merged into one.
Madelieu-la-Napoule is currently counting around 23,000 inhabitants, which contrasts strongly with the only 400 people who lived here in the mid 1800's! It is a town that is constantly growing, thanks to its main source of income – the tourism industry.
Mandelieu is a paradise for those who appreciate sports. There are lovely sandy beaches, golf courses, sailing clubs and hiking trails, all in stunning scenic surroundings.
Four times a week, markets are held at various locations in town. Here you can shop fresh fruits and vegetables, locally produced honey, Provencal fabrics, sausages ... or just stroll around and enjoy all the lovely scents. You will find many good restaurants in Mandelieu.
Every year in february there is the famous Mimosa Festival, which attracts more than 60 000 visitors. More that 12 tonnes of Mimosa flowers are used in the festivities that last for 8 days.
