Interview with Maggie Giahi 12 June 2017
Our co-worker Maggie Giahi has been living and working in Cannes for several years and knows the city and its surroundings perfectly well.
What kind of property would you say is your specialty, Maggie?
I am specialised in investment objects, an area in which I have extensive experience. I have a rare ability to cherry-pick the best properties, or to find “la perle rare” as we say in French.
I have lived in various places in the world, but in Cannes I feel like home! To me Cannes is the perfect town: a mix of old and modern, luxury and daily life, coast and inland. In Cannes, there are lovely beaches, restaurants and shops. You can easily reach Monaco and Italy via the motorway. It is close to Nice International Airport and all the exciting ski resorts. It is a great base for discovering the rest of the region. Cannes is so much more than glitter and glamor - you live a lot outdoors and many inhabitants love sports.
What is the most important thing to consider when buying property on the French Riviera?
(Laughing) Location, location, location! Choosing the right real estate agent! It is important that the real estate agent is a local resident that knows all the nooks and crannies of his or her area. Open communication between the real estate agent and the customer is another important aspect – the agent really needs to understand the background of a property purchase. I not only sell a home, I sell a dream - and therefore I only propose objects that I myself would have liked to buy.
I have an international and multicultural background - I speak Swedish, English, French, Farsi (Persian) and Arabic. I am about to obtain a private jet license and today for example, I flew to Saint Tropez!
